The new Board of Directors of AB Lietuvos oro uostai will start its work on 23 March. The Board will consist of 4 independent Board members and one civil servant of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. The new Board was elected for a 4-year term, following the expiry of the term of office of the previous Board.
The selection of the Board was carried out by AIMS International Lietuva, a recruitment company.
"The aviation sector is currently going through a period of change, with new airport terminals being built and new flight destinations opening up. I believe that the elected members of the Board of Directors will contribute with their accumulated experience and competences to increase the efficiency of Lithuanian airports, expand into new markets and implement other important goals for the state and the company," said Minister of Transport and Communications Marius Skuodis.
The selection of independent members was won by Eglė Čiužaitė, Gediminas Almantas, Tadas Arvydas Vizgirda and Dan Stromberg. In line with the principles of good governance and to ensure continuity of the Board, three of them - E. Čiužaitė, G. Almantas and T. A. Vizgirda - will continue to serve on the Board.
Eglė Čiužaitė, who chaired the company's previous Board, has extensive experience in strategic planning, financial management, organisational change and process improvement, and corporate governance. E. Čiužaitė has also held senior management positions at AB Lietuvos energija, AB Ignitis gamyba, Procter & Gamble.
Gediminas Almantas, former CEO of Lithuanian Airports, has many years of experience in various corporate boards. Gediminas holds a degree in aviation law, has practiced aviation law, worked as a sustainability advisor at Copenhagen Airports and as a board member of the International Airports Association in Brussels. He lectures on airport network management at the ENAC Aviation Institute in Toulouse. He has many years of experience in board positions in organisations such as EPSO-G, AB Oro Navigacija, Lithuanian Red Cross.
Tadas Arvydas Vizgirda has many years of experience in aviation, tourism, financial technology development, strategic planning, business development, crisis management, competence and service development, marketing. Since 2016, he has been the Head of Business Unit of SHIFT4, an international financial technology company in Lithuania.
Dan Stromberg, a newly selected independent member with many years of management experience in the telecommunications sector, will join the LOU Board. Mr Stromberg, who was the CEO of the telecommunications company Telia, will now bring his international experience to the LOU Board.
A civil servant will also be seconded to the new LOU Board in the near future.
The newly appointed members of the Board will elect the Chairman of the Board at the next Board meeting.
