In the Assembly of the Airports Council International (ACI Europe), held on 17 November, Marius Gelžinis, the CEO of Lithuanian Airports, was elected to the Board of this organization. The Council unites more than 500 airports across Europe.

This week, 7 new Board members of Airports Council International were elected for a three-year term. In total, the board of the Brussels-based organization has 23 elected representatives from different regions across Europe.

“This confidence expressed by the representatives of other airports is a great assessment of the overall achievements of Lithuanian Airports during the past years. This shows that, together with the whole team, we have made the right decisions and are continuing to take necessary action, which other airports in the region notice”, - says Mr. Gelžinis, the CEO of Lithuanian Airports.

According to M. Gelžinis, aviation is currently going through the most difficult period in its history due to the challenges of the pandemic, therefore the main and immediate goal of Airport Council International is to help airports resume normal operations as soon as possible.
